The Himalayan Brown Bear thrives exclusively in the Himalayas and stands as the sole subspecies of Brown Bear found in this region. Displaying an omnivorous diet, these bears retreat to hibernation dens during the winter months. Despite the Brown Bear species being categorized as "Least Concern" by the IUCN, this particular subspecies faces grave endangerment, with dwindling populations. Its status teeters on the edge of critical endangerment in the Hindu Kush, while in the Himalayas, it is considered endangered. Over time, the

Nepalese term "Dzu-Teh" has become intertwined with the legend of the Yeti, commonly known as the Abominable Snowman.

Consequently, confusion and misidentification have arisen between the Himalayan Brown Bear and the elusive Yeti. In 2017, a DNA analysis conducted on a mummified animal believed to represent a Yeti revealed it to be a Himalayan Brown Bear. Embark on an extraordinary journey with WWE's expedition team to the breathtaking Drass Valley, nestled amidst the rugged peaks of the Himalayas, where we will unveil one of the region's most imperilled and magnificent creatures—the Himalayan Brown Bear. This species is

renowned for its size and scarcity. While these bears traditionally hibernate for a brief period during winter, the fortunate can witness their splendour throughout most of the year.

While our main expedition focus centers around the Himalayan Brown Bear, the region offers abundant opportunities to spot the Tibetan Wolf, Red Fox, Long Tail Marmot, Asiatic Ibex, and diverse mammal species. Additionally, the area serves as a haven for bird enthusiasts, with its rich variety of warblers, finches, and raptors. Join us in Drass, Western Ladakh, renowned as the second coldest inhabited place on Earth, for a rare opportunity to encounter the Himalayan Brown Bears. This location in India is widely regarded as the ultimate destination for observing the grandest mammals of the Himalayas—the DzuTeh. Our team of dedicated wildlife enthusiasts tirelessly operates within the region year-round, utilizing advanced scanning technology and camera traps to track and document the Brown Bears' movements and behaviors. During our expedition, we will

find accommodations at a comfortable Lodge or Homestay in Drass.
