The only way to travel is to fly to Kushok Bakula Rimpochi Airport located in Leh. It is just 4 km away from the main city. The airport is well connected to Delhi and also receives flights from Mumbai, Srinagar, Jammu, Chandigarh and other general destinations in India. Even international travellers can fly directly from major cities like Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi.

Trek Terms
Distance: 18 kilometres
Duration: 4 hours
You will arrive in Kaza, the administrative centre of the Spiti Valley. Get acclimatized to
the local weather and explore the town on your first day. You can then drive from Kaza
to Kibber. Kibber is situated at an altitude of 14000 feet. You can find the famous Ki
Monastery near the village. The monastery is famous for its architecture, images of Lord
Buddha and wall paintings. Now, you can start the trek by heading towards Dumla. It is
a short ascent on slightly rough terrain. You will cross many narrow river gorges. You
will then reach the campsite where you will stay overnight.
Day 1: Kaza to Ki | Ki to Dumla
Altitude: 14990 feet
Duration: 3 to 4 hours
You will walk down the mountain slopes during the completion of this stretch of trekking.
You will then reach a narrow gorge. Once you descend, head towards the meadow of
Thaltak. You can put your tents and camp for the day.
Day 2: Dumla to Thaltak Meadow
Altitude: 16780 feet
Duration: 7 hours
You will start early in the morning for a challenging trek. You will trek for about 8 km
towards Jagtha and then to Bongrojen. Once you come down the river slopes and follow
it. On your trail, there will be all sized rocks scattered. Once you reach Bongrojen, you
can go to the campsite for the night stay.
Day 3: Thaltak Meadow to Jagtha | Jagtha to Bongrojen
Altitude: 16200 feet
Duration: 5 hours
Today is an important day as you will reach the Summit. After breakfast and tea, you
will start hiking. Ascend gradually to the top of the pass to get a magnificent view. Once
you reach the pass summit, enjoy the breathtaking views of the Spiti Valley. Then,
descend towards the Pare Chu River. You will then take the trail to Dak Karzong, a
small, flat and barren valley amidst mountains. After you reach the site, take rest in the
camp.
Day 4: Bongrojen to Parang La (18290 feet) | Parang La to Dak Karzong
Altitude: 15500 feet
Duration: 5 hours
Take the upstream along the Pare Chu River. You will come across several mountain
rivers on your way. You will set camps after you reach Datang Yongma. You will stay
overnight in the camp under glittering stars.
Day 5: Dak Karzong to Datang Yongma
Altitude: 14869 feet
Duration: 5 to 6 hours
Today will be an easy trek on a flat path. You will hike to reach Racholamo Valley. The
track descends passing by Norbu Sumdo. You will cross a river beyond Norbu Sumdo
on the way to Chumik Shilde. You will stay overnight in the camps.
Day 6: Datang Yongma to Chumik Shilde
Altitude: 15075 feet
Duration: 5 hours
It is a relaxing day in nature as you would explore the beautiful scenery of Parang La
Trek today. Trek on a flat path to reach Tso Moriri, a mesmerising glacial lake. You can
also spot some Tibetan wild asses and migratory birds. Make sure you capture the
stunning landscapes of nature. You will stay in the camps overnight.
Day 7: Chumik Shilde to Tso Moriri
Altitude: 14850 feet
Duration: 6 to 7 hours
Walking along the shores of Tso Moriri is an amazing experience in this trek. The place
is popular to capture photos of snow-covered mountains of Ladakh. Once you reach
the Korzok Village, check out the Korzok Monastery that has statues of houses and
beautiful wall paintings of Buddhist deities. You will stay overnight in a hotel.
Day 8: Tso Moriri to Korzok
You will travel from Korzok to Leh by road covering approximately 211 kilometres. Your
trek to Parang La will end here. You can also explore the town if you get time. With an
outstanding experience, Parang La is an unforgettable trek for many travellers in the
country.
Day 9: Korzok to Leh
Itinerary
Parang La trek reflects the beauty of Spiti Valley. The nine-day expedition starting from
Kaza, the ideal starting point of the trek. You will visit Kibber, old monasteries, hike on
rough mountain terrains and pass through deep narrow gorges during the trek. Apart
from the Summit, Tso Moriri Lake is a significant point that travellers love.
