When we hear about Zanskar and Ladakh what comes to our mind is the ancient Kingdom of Tibet. These kingdoms are completely blocked during the winter season and accessible as soon as the sun shines forth its warmth. The sun brings forth new life to these barren kingdoms as their main source of livelihood, barley can be sown and harvested now. The summer bring with it a new life to the entire region which can be understood by the newly painted Chortens and the new prayer flags fluttering in the gentle breeze. The trek from Lamayuru to Padum via Nerak takes you through the sublime landscapes of the region, crossing several passes in the Himalayan region and getting to see the beautiful Zanskari Villages, Monasteries and long forgotten forts as well as the chance to see the elusive snow leopard if luck favors us.
